Awesome Oracy
A noisy classroom can be a very good thing. Vibrant talk, conversation, constructive disagreement and improvising in character is music to a teacher’s ears, and we all understand that oracy plays a vital role in children’s education. Talk helps build not only language and communication, but self-esteem and collaborative skills.
In this resource we look at drama strategies to promote effective talk based on stories in your lessons. We’ll use the story of Macbeth as an example, but you’ll find these models easily adaptable to any story you are exploring with your class.
