Artsmark
How can Artis support your Artsmark journey?
Artis is an Artsmark Partner, which means that we are part of an Arts Council England endorsed network of arts and cultural organisations who can support Artsmark schools and settings. Artis can support Artsmark schools who are looking to further develop and embed their arts and cultural provision.
The Quality Principles are embedded throughout the new Artsmark award to better support schools to achieve their ambitions for high quality arts and cultural provision. The seven Quality Principles are:
- Striving for excellence and innovation
- Being authentic
- Being exciting, inspiring and engaging
- Ensuring a positive and inclusive experience
- Actively involving children and young people
- Enabling personal progression
- Developing belonging and ownership
Artsmark Framework
Artis has a number of programmes that support Artsmark, including Artis Learning – our ongoing, year-long performing arts programme which supports cross-curricular arts provision in school.
- We partner with your school to support your curriculum design, by integrating the performing arts across subjects. Artis Specialists engage your children in maths, literacy and topic-work by linking a range of dance, music and drama activities into sessions.
- We can also run one-off WOW project days and Artsweeks around any curriculum area, school priority, or special day in the school calendar.
- Artis can also support work that develops pupils’ Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) learning, through our wellbeing programme, Artis Bounce.
- For secondary schools Artis also support your Transition process with enrichment workshops to help settle and motivate new Year 7 children.
Continued Professional Development
By partnering with Artis, you are supporting your teaching staff’s ongoing professional development. Working alongside a professional performing artist on a weekly basis, teachers are given opportunities to co-produce and collaborate to create imaginative, artistic sessions in the classroom.
Artis Impact is a comprehensive suite of workshops which includes twilight workshops and INSETs that develops creative teaching skills. It provides teachers with a comprehensive toolbox of creative strategies and resources to broaden the appeal of core subjects through the arts.
Arts Award
As part of your Artsmark journey, you may be interested to learn more about offering Arts Award to your children. This qualification encourages ‘young people take on challenges in an art form, participate in arts activities, experience arts events, get inspired by artists and share their arts skills with others’. Artis is an Arts Award Centre so to find out more about Artis and Arts Award click here.
By partnering with Artis, you are showing an ongoing commitment to arts at your school. You are recognising the value of the arts across your curriculum, and actively promoting an ethos of arts and culture.
